If you didn’t know, avocado can be used in desserts as well, not just in salsa, salads, and avocado toast. Ever since I’ve tried this chocolate avocado pudding recipe, it became my addiction!

Avocado fruit contains four times more potassium than a banana, protein, healthy fats, and nutrients. Apart from these benefits, avocado makes this dessert creamy and silky smooth. Does it taste like avocado? No… Not even a little bit!

Avocado: Make sure is well-ripened.

Pure Maple Syrup: Natural plant-based sweetener with more than 24 antioxidants.

Vanilla Extract: Works wonderfully in combination with cocoa and avocado.

Cocoa Powder: It gives that chocolatey texture to this pudding.

How to Make Chocolate Avocado Pudding

Step 1: Peel and remove the pit of 3 chilled avocados. Cut it into smaller pieces.

Step 2: Transfer the avocado to a blender followed by cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.

Step 3: Mix all the ingredients until nice and smooth.

Step 4: Transfer the pudding to chilled glasses and use your favorite toppings, such as fresh fruits, coconut shaving, or cocoa nibs.

Can You Store It?

I do not recommend storing, because it tastes better when fresh. However, you may try to freeze it in freezer-friendly containers. I never got the chance to store this pudding because there are no leftovers, my family loves it.

Healthy Chocolate Avocado Pudding Recipe

If you also like vegan desserts as much as I do or you just simply try to eat less processed foods, then this healthified recipe is exactly what you need.

Ingredients

– 3 ripe large avocados, peeled, and pit removed

– ¼ cup of pure maple syrup

– 6 tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

Toppings

Strawberries, berries, bananas, coconut shavings, chocolate shavings, whipped cream, or cacao nibs.

Method

  1. In a blender, add the chilled avocado flesh, ¼ cup maple syrup, 6 tbsps cocoa powder, and vanilla extract.
  2. Mix until creamy, and there are no lumps left. You may need to scrape the jug in between.
  3. Transfer into glasses and refrigerate for two hours before serving.
  4. Add your favorite toppings and serve chilled.
